Organic Baby Products
Organic baby products are the safest choice for your baby, their skin, their health and their future. Organic baby products are gentle, pure, non-irritating, extremely soft and very safe.
The word organic can be used many different ways. You need to be careful when it comes to the word organic because some people use the word very loosely and don’t quite understand the meaning of the word. The word organic could just be a word in the name of a product, a name brand of a product, some parts of the product could be organic or it could truly mean the product is 100% certified organic. 100% certified organic means that every part of the product is organic and the product has been tested by a credited testing lab that specializes in organic product testing. When you are looking for organic baby products you want to look for products that are 100% certified organic or a good portion of the product is made of organic material and the other items in the product are natural and pure. Make sure that the organic products are at the first of the list of ingredients and not just one or two at the bottom of the list.
Organic baby products can be anything from clothing, food, toys to stuffed animals. Learn to read into labels in greater depth and this will help you understand what a product truly is made of and how safe it is. A stuffed animal may be listed under organic baby products and the outside of the stuffed animal could be made of organic cotton but the eyes are plastic and it is stuffed with polyester which neither are organic. Therefore this stuffed animal is not totally organic and should not be listed under 100% certified organic baby products. Make sure every part of a product is organic for it to be absolutely safe for your child. Buttons, zippers, stuffing, eyes and ribbon can all be made of organic safe products. We still have a long way to go and there is not yet a lot of choice when it comes to organic baby products that are truly safe for your baby. There are a select few that are excellent for your baby’s development, health and bright future. Organic means that the material grown to produce whether it be cotton, hemp, bamboo or wool is in select tested fields or lands with no chemicals, pesticides or growth hormones for a minimum of three years. The soil has not changed, tampered with nor had anything added to it. When these materials are being produced at the manufacturers, they have not been altered or had anything added such as fire retardants. Chemicals of any kind are not added or put on these materials and they stay in their purest state as nature intended. If there is any colour or print added to the organic baby products it is safe, low impact and vegetable or water based with absolutely no harmful toxins in them at all. It is a pure and natural way to manufacture organic baby products. The final product has not been altered nor had anything added to it that might be potentially harmful long term to our skin or health unlike typical clothes or material products you have bought for years in a store. If we only knew the scary things that are actually put on non organic baby products, we would be horrified and never want to buy them again. There are chemicals, strong dyes, formaldehyde, lead, pesticides added to them to just name a few. I would personally never want these unsafe products near by baby’s skin, in their beds or in toys that they instinctively put in their mouths. There are a great deal of terrible unsafe toys and baby items out there that are marketed for our little ones. Walmart for example make their products as cheaply as possible so they jeopardize safety and a toy or product lasting any length of time. Probably not the best place to make your baby purchases. Saving money at your child’s expense is not the best choice. You get what you pay for and I would rather pay for quality and safety.
The safest organic baby products can be bought at organic specialty stores in your neighborhood or on-line at websites that specialize in organic and natural products and have lots of information about organic baby products on them. Handmade toy makers usually also offer great products that they take pride in making safely by hand. Stores that are associated with green, organic, eco-friendly, environmental and/or fair trade agencies are very good resources for organic baby products. We do need to put a price on our health and get what we pay for. Buy better and buy less, buy healthy and buy less. Organic baby products are the best choice for your wee one, their health, their best outcome for the future and the environment.
